ah when you file bankruptcy there goes your credit, right out the window.

I would consider discussing a deed in lieu of foreclosure with the lender. It will hurt your credit but you won’t have filed a bankruptcy case.
Right now, lots of foreclosures are pending and lenders seem to be relatively understanding, especially in states like Ohio which have been hard hit economically.
