The Senate has spoken! How do YOU answer?
The Senate has voted in FAVOR of amnesty, basically letting people become citizens by paying about $3000.00. Is that acceptable to you? Has the government started selling citizenship as a last resort before bankruptcy etc? Who exactly does the Senate think they’re representing, anyone?
Second part: By eliminating fines and penalties against employers of illegals, do you think the Senate has effectively nullified labor law as we know it?

Yeah, I don’t care either way….

I used to be apathetic…. but now I just don’t care.

I will be flexing my power come voting time, anyone who voted in favor of Amnesty is out on my ballot.

Actually, the bill increased fines and enforcement against businesses.
But the bill still sucks. I’ve never seen so many Republicans without a backbone. I’m Democrat (usually) and I tend to rely on the Republicans to make the tough, unreasonable laws. Well, I wanted a tough law and they TOTALLY wussed out. The Republicans have a majority and the couldn’t do this!

I don’t know, but I am absolutely SICK over what the senate and President Bush, for that matter are saying here. The house, for the most part, seems to think the way I do. This whole thing is exasperating.

I think it passed so the government would have a cheap way to rebuild New Orleans…any thoughts?
And too the apathetic: YOU’RE WHY OUR COUNTRY IS GONNA ROT FROM THE INSIDE OUT
August 7th, 2008 at 1:04 pm
I’m going to tell them ‘GO TO HELL,YOU SORRY BASTARDS”!!! You SOLD OUT our country so businesses could have “cheap labor’??!!!! And THAT is EXACTLY who they are REPRESENTING!!! It SURE AS HELL ISN’T THE CITIZENS!!!!!

I think it is wrong. Come on. Just let every criminal out of jail and dismiss every case in criminal Court. Make it fair for every one else. But the loving government of the United States is still screwing the middle class. Hope they are happy. Now the people who helped build this great nation get to bend over and take it up the a**.

I think that its sending a message to other countrys at how weak we really are….
I never payed that much attention before but because I live in arizona I am on the front lines of this debate..
How dare they say 3000.00 is worth all the money they have taken in welfare and all the bills they’ve wracked up in medical expences because they don’t know how to stop having children..-sighs-
I feel sad for america…I feel sad to be an american…

Time to send all those idiot GOP senators who supported this abomination into retirement.
This Senatorial country-club BS needs to be smacked down by both the House GOP and the Bush administration. If it is not, there are other parties that actually believe in the Constitution and rule of law (definitely not the Dems), and I will give my vote to them.

Sure make them pay $3000. If they actually collected it at least then we would get something from them. After all just amnesty wouldn’t get anything out of them. As to who they are representing face it we aren’t going to deport them. If we would deport them great. Just get that wall up, or border re-enforced and then deport them and keep them out. As to the nullifing labor laws as we know it NO. They are simply getting rid of the pesky laws that aren’t enforced anyway.

The Senate actually strengthened provisions against employers. That is the one thing I like about the Bill.
All the same, my answer will be
to the Senators who voted yes on the Bill: “Good-bye!”
to the House:”Don’t even appoint a committee so it can die the way a similar House Bill died last year.”
