Liberals: Can you state some good things that President Bush has done?
Here are 3, do you have any more?
1. Amnesty for Illegal Aliens.
2. Do not call list
3. Updated Bankruptcy law so an individual can keep more of his personal property when having his debts discharged in a a Title 11, Chapter 7 Bankruptcy
(Okay, technically the do not call list eliminate over a million jobs, but I don’t care. And I think Judge Small did most of the Bankruptcy revisions, but Bush signed off on it).
NOTE: The 1st amnesty did happen, the 2nd did not.
NOTE: Most of the Bankruptcy law revisions were done by Federal Bankruptcy judges. I think Judge Small was one of the primary contributors.
NOTE: Medical debts can be discharged under the new bankruptcy lawd just as before. Unlike non-secured credit debt, there is no 90 day period before filing that cannot be discharged.
rick m: You must really like long lines.

Do not Call list was good. Tax break was good (could have been better). Amnesty didn’t happen. The bankrupcy change was bad in that it made it harder for individuals to actually declare bankrupcy. I also liked daylight savings time change this year. Wasn’t his initiative, but it was cool.

Amnesty for illegals is a good thing? Even if it is he can’t do it without Congress. The do not call list was not his idea. He signed the bill Congress had in the works even before he took office. The bankruptcy thing again was from Congress not from him. He merely signed the bills he didn’t write them.
I know he wants with all his heart to be a dictator but we can’t credit him with what he hasn’t done and we can’t blame him for what he hasn’t done. Unfortunately because of his incompetence he has far more negatives than positives.

The new bankruptcy law was written by the credit industry and it is to the disadvantage of people in debt. Nothing has been done about comprehensive immigration reform. The Do Not Call list legislation was worthwhile but it didn’t originate from Bush.

They are too blinded by hate to say anything good about anything

I think “amnesty” is a misnomer, however I believe his willingness to address illegal immigration in our country as a many-faceted problem is his biggest show of political courage.
The drop in long-distance rates in 2002 means that the majority of jobs lost under the Do Not Call Registry were overseas to begin with.
The Bankruptcy law limits protections for the people who need them. There are no protections for individuals who have suffered catastrophic losses due to medical bills. And the one protection you’ve listed is actually a loophole designed to allow the rich elite to hide their wealth in various properties. Good effort though.

Ummm, the first one is good? No, it’s not.
Will being the first president in history to take the most vacation days off count as good?
bin laden captured. Oh wait, that hasn’t happened yet.
Still thinking….give me a minute please……still trying here…..nope, I got nothing, but check back often, I may think of something.

He hasn’t done it yet, but someday, inevitably, he will die. I hope I’m there to piss on his grave.
I imagine they’ll be a queue. lol

He pulled the veil off of our naked imperialism, and now most of the world views our policy as aggressive and belligerent., It may in the long run be good, as we will have to address it one day the sooner the better.

He’s pretty much weakened the Repug Party.
