how often are you allowed to file bankruptcy?

Is the bankruptcy law the same in all states, and what is the time allowance between each bankruptcy.

   Chapter 7 you can file every 7 years. Chpt. 13 you can file as often as you want. Bankruptcy laws are federal so not different in every state.

   Bankruptcy obligations and restrictions are supposed to last for 7 years. This is designed to keep you from getting into financial straits again so quickly.
