this is the situation…i received toll violations that equal 470 dollars from the state of Illinois and the violations were under mine and my moms name because she owns my car. she is filing bankruptcy and my mom’s bankruptcy lawyer told me not to pay the violations because he will include them in the bankruptcy.

i thought it was against the law to put fines from the state in a bankruptcy. is that correct or incorrect?

Currently, there are a large number of liberal district Rep.(many with hispanic surnames) who are doing all they can to ensure that California does not conform to Federal Gov. Immigration laws designed to end or eliminate Illegal immigration.
Calif is on the brink of bankruptcy, has many financial problems, prison shortages etc. and the list goes on.

Why would these represenatives do anything to limit or curtail removing people who are here illegally and many would say were the reason California is failing.

Is this the start of Mexico/Pro’s trying to take over/reconquista California. Will Gov. Schartzneggar agree to this when the bill is presented to him? To NOT OBEY Federal laws on immigration?

I was wondering, what is considered primary residence. How long do you have to live in the property before you can make use of the new exemption tax law. Short sale specialists tell me just move in and chance your address, there is no time limit minimum. Others tell me two years. I have only owned the property for one year though. I bought the property and it dropped 50% in value! Do I have to pay that even if I file a form 982 for insolvency. I am not claiming bankruptcy though.

Does anyone know the procedures, I dont know if the laws changed in nevada or not and me and my husband are going to file. We have a consultation next week. How long does it take until your credit can be better?

also, please indicate how you think we got to where we are, whether its budget deficits, trade deficits, record consistently high gas prices, outsourcing of jobs, insourcing of cheaper and cheaper labor, the housing bubble, artificially low interest rates, the foreclosure crisis, why businesses offer less health insurance coverage than before….unaffordable health care costs, the fact that laws were passed to make it harder to file bankruptcy now….etc.. You get the idea. Tell us what you think about our american economy…..and how we got to this point.

I received a letter from Ownes Corning informing me that they came out of bankruptcy on October 31, 2006 and I should be getting my money thru my attorneys but I have heard nothing from my attorney. Unable to get information when I call law firm.

I absolutely hate one of my DIL’s, once she came into my son’s life she ruined it, he lost all interest in going to the gym, his career, his friends etc…since she came into his life he has declared bankruptcy, lost his job, lost his home, his vehicle etc…, she has isolated him from everyone that loves him. His friends are no longer allowed to come around and his best friend since 5th grade she accused of hitting on her (which this kid can’t stand her and its absolutely a lie).

She is manipulative, she lies excessively, she says she is a Christian but in no way lives by any of those moral codes. She has a temper that I swear when she blows up (and she can go from cold to hot in a split second) you would swear you see her head turning on its axes. She screams like someone is murdering her, she throws things, she jumps on my sons back and starts beating him in the head. These fights can start from something as simple as he didn’t throw away his soda can.

So what to do? Wait?

She is mental, when he and his Dad was watching the movie BIG starring Tom Hanks she blew up and said they were perverts watching it to look at the girls in it, she won’t allow any magazines in the house because she thinks he’ll look at the women in those, well when the relationship ends, if it ends I will have him in therapy fast so he can find out why he’d allow himself to be abused this way. I’ve read up on abusers and she fits it to a T.

Mother has mounting medical bills that are impossible to pay. Several ‘creditors’ are threatening collections. Wondering if they ‘win’ a judgement against her, can she still file bankrupcy afterwards? She is on social security and has no property or assets, so I’m not sure what they can even get (state law prevents retirement income or assets from being touched). Thank for any advice or ideas!

I used Free Credit Report. com and they show that my truck, and house balance were still being reported, as late with a balance owed. I disputed both and they came back as remaining. So I contacted them directly politely threatening to use a lawyer. They both agreed to note that the account is in bankruptcy but refuse to report the balance as Zero. I have read in several forums that by law they are required to report the balance as Zero. Any help is appreciated, my financial hardship has left me frustrated with not many avenues to turn to.
