I have a CA calling me about a charged off CC debt. I sent a certified validation letter to a collection agency. I have not heard back from them. What is my next step. Do I wait on validation. If they do validate, Do I make a payment offer in writing? If it gets to this, what do you do if they refuse payment?
The man from the agency left a message on my machine and said “your either have two choices 1. you can call me back today or 2. I will turn this back over to the creditor and you can suffer the consequences. He also said that I could not file bankruptcy or work with a counseling agency because it was too late for that. With a second message he treatened to sent it to a law firm (in Georgia) and have me served with papers. My 30 days is still not up to request validation. I know they recieved the letter (I got the green slip back a couple days ago)
If anyone has ever been in this situation, please advise.

Need to get some info on filling for BK in California. I know some laws have changed……….any experts out there HELP!

One of my neighbor’s father in law has not paid taxes in 15 years. Although he does own his house, he is otherwise flat broke and can’t get any loans because he maxed out his credit cards a few years ago and never paid them. He is afraid to get a job that is on the books for fear that the IRS will realize he owes them money. Can he declare bankruptcy and come clean with the IRS without losing his house?

We went under. There are no offshore accounts or hidden assets. Everything was confiscated including personal property, even though we were an LLC business.
I can accept my mistakes and feel I’ve paid my debt to the bankruptcy courts. What I can’t fathom is this relentless pursuit by the IRS. How can any entity that isn’t even a part of our federal government wield so much power over the fate of the average American citizen. These people are even above our bankruptcy laws.
Am I unofficially indentured? Is it possible to end this harrassment?

I had a property settlement drawn up in my divorce that stated that I would not persue alimony in my divorce if my exhusband took full financial responsibility for a 2002 mitsubishi eclipse loan. Well after the divorce he had the car repossed because he didnt pay the loan and then filed bankruptcy. The loan company then came after me for the monies owed so I had to file bankruptcy. Anyway my question is, since he didnt take financial responsibility on the car like agreed in our property settlement, do I have any claim to file for alimony or damages?

I understand that new laws are on the books about filing bankruptcy. Has anyone here tried to file recently, and how did it turn out? Was it to your advantage, did it help you “wipe the slate clean” of your credit problems, or was it something you wish you had never done?

He actually has his own business now and does well. But since the bankruptcy, we are both afraid to buy things. I had money from a law suit from a truck driver that killed my mother. He lived off of it and didn’t hardly work until the money was almost gone. But since he started to work we have started a family; Iam now on disability for being on antidepressant meds and that causes a new set of conflicts. I’m not sure he is totally honest about the money he makes unless I go with him to work. He seems to hold back money from me and tells me not to spend it on this and that like I’m going to get him back big time. I mostly sit home and sleep when the kids are in school and I’m not with him. We work well together but sometimes being with him we get into arguements about why he dosen’t get enough money from people. He is one of those jack of all trades and master of none. He took a few college courses and has earned himself a few cps. But he gets stress out and yells at the kids. Not sure.

I will be filing for bankruptcy & live with 2 relatives & i pay rent for staying at their house. Now why the heck does the law say that i have to include my family income & size if i am the only one that will be filing because of all my debts?
My debts have nothing to do with my relatives that i live with.
If they make good salaries why do i have to report how much they make aterall this is my issue not theirs???
They do not support me i support myself by paying all my expenses but dont make much $ so i cant pay my creditors.

This question is based on true situation of perjury/contempt/judicial circus which has been ongoing for the past five years restricting your progress/freedom and broken family. Based on this false statement you are put under bankruptcy until you succumb to their demand, as most lawyers are too coward to take this case against a licensed bank. You are now deprived from getting fresh bank loan locally. So you asked for foreign help ? or you hire a fesh graduate in law to stand for you ? demand for abolish of bankruptcy act ? or something else…..
