They are suppose to enforce the law, and arrest people who do things that put others in harm. They rarely, if ever testify against each other when a fellow cop goes astray. They protect them and show their moral bankruptcy. Aren’t they suppose to set a good example for the communities in which they serve? How do they get past the psychology exam?

Bankruptcy in 2000 was to come off credit in 2007. Law changed recently to 10. Shouldn’t pertain to us, right?

Ours was filed in June 2000, discharged in Sept. 2000. The laws at that time were seven years to stay on our credit. Just in recent years, it has changed to 10 years. Should we not be “grandfathered” into the laws of when we filed? The new law does not apply to our bankruptcy 7 years ago. It should have still come off Sept of last year. Experian, etc is being jerks about it and won’t take it off. I need to know if I must hire an attorney just to get off what should have come off anyway. Thanks. :-)

I say no because those who have more money than you do will use their lawyers and others to do what they can to cut your throat, ruin you and do everything they can to profit off their screwing you.

Welcome to typical corporate America.

Working to screw all who they can and then to profit from your misfortune.

Welcome to Corporate America and their support (buy out) of the American Congress. After all, thanks to the new bankruptcy laws the average American gets to balance the books of corporate irresponsibility.

I know with the new bankruptcy laws that you pay back monies owed, along with getting an extremely bad credit score. The third party route is bad as well but what’s the worst of an already bad situation?

Can i declare chapter 13 bankruptcy under these conditions in respect to the updated bankruptcy laws?

I am in my 20s, I rent do not own. I have $22,500 in unsecured credit card debt. I only make $31,000 annually. I obviously know I am in a dire condition, so I really do not ask for any negative comments. I am ashamed that I allowed my financial condition to become so dire, but never the less, I am unable to pay this debt off. I live in Pennsylvania, and I need to know if I am still eligible for Chapter 13 bankruptcy under the updated bankruptcy laws? I did a little research on my own, and I seem to meet the conditions. I do not make the median average for the state. I appreciate any response.

Is money saved in banks in Hong Kong insured in case of bankruptcy?

I’m looking to invest money as a CD or savings account in HSBC’s branch in Hong Kong. However, I’m afraid that in case of bankruptcy, my money cannot be recovered (for example, in the US, up to $10,000 can be recovered in case the bank goes bankrupt). Does any such law exist in Hong Kong? Will it be safe to invest my money there?

Should I use a paralegal or laywer service to file a relatively simple chapter 7 bankruptcy?

I have reseached the new bankruptcy laws and I know all about the schedule I and schedule J filing requirements. My case is pretty straight forward (only credit card debt) and I make less than the state median. I don’t want to pay an attorney $1000 but I want the job done right the first time. What should I do?
