Because of medication that I’m required to take and have been on since 1999, since I have no medical insurance, I’ve had to continually throw the costs of meds on credit cards. I’m making more money now than a month ago in my last job, but I’m still only able to make the minimum payments.

I don’t buy useless stuff, just what I need, not want, NEED. My dad is hinting at me to get a place of my own becuz his witch of a wife is putting him up to it. If I didn’t have all this debt, maybe, just maybe, I could afford a studio apartment. I know the bankruptcy laws have changed since like 5 years ago or whatever or even less than that, and I know they make it a lot harder for you to get rid of your debt. I don’t know what to do. I’ve contacted non-profit credit card organizations and they just tell me I need to find a job that makes more money. Well, that’s really easy for them to say, especially when I don’t have a college degree. Do I have a chance?

How would the US Administration react to a total US Dollar and Wall St. collapse?

I’m not American, but I follow US politics & current affairs

The US Dollar has been losing value throughout 2006. The American people are the most debt burden in the world. The US deficit is the biggest in the world, with record military spending and record borrowing from foreign nations. Iran is moving its oil dealing to the Euro, with other nations to perhaps follow.

The US economy is ready for perhaps the biggest collapse in history. This would cause panic sale of stock, panic cash withdrawals from banks, business collapse, civil unrest, loss of property, bankruptcy on an unprecedented scale and perhaps Police needed to control the panic.

Would we see the suspension of the constitution? Katrina let Bush remove Posse Comitatus, so would there be Martial Law and troops on the streets? Would FEMA take control, set-up disaster villages for any people made homeless?

Your views? Be paranoid & pessimistic if you wish.
ghggj g - That’s how a crash works. The US economy is being propped up by record deby and political management of the Fed Reserve. If China stops lending money, the economy will crash. Trust me.
thunder2s - Im British and we are the 2nd biggest lender to America. The US gives us none of its foreign aid. It all goes to Israel. So we help you out.

Not really worrying about credit, actually, can always get that back. I just want to get rid of this house for the amount owed, which I don’t think I will get it for this neighborhood if I were to sell it.

Im looking to file for bankruptcy and kinda need to know the new laws. I have googled it but didnt really understand it. Maybe is someone broke it down to me I would get it easier. Right now I read that they took some of your property and sold it to give to the collectors. Does that mean they could come into my house and grab my guns and sell them?

The new bankruptcy law makes it difficult to discharge student loans through bankruptcy (before there used to be a seven-year waiting period), but allows a judge to do so for reasons of hardship. What states, courts, or judges have been most willing to do this?

In VA. I owned house before marriage. Ex wants $. Do I have to pay?

My house and mortgage were titled in my name before marriage. They stayed in my name through the marriage.

I have two questions:

1. Now we’re divorcing. Ex wants $ from house appreciation. Do I have to pay?

2. If the law says I have to pay .. is there a way to avoid it? Can I sell house? Declare bankruptcy?

Thank you all for your help.

Has there been a massive redistribution of wealth in the U.S?

Since the war in Iraq (under the current Bush presidency), billions of dollars have been spent on the war in Iraq and Afghanistan. Much of that went to war supply contractors. Bankruptcy laws and credit card regulations have quietly become more restrictive and cumbersome to U.S. consumers. Middle-class wages don’t even begin to keep up with the cost of living.
